What makes a portfolio project inspectable?

A practical review guide for scope, ownership, evidence, and limitations.

A live demo shows that a workflow can be tried. A repository shows implementation that can be inspected. Neither alone establishes commercial impact or production readiness.

State contribution separately from capability

A project can demonstrate evaluation or planning capability without proving that its author owned every component. Record who designed, implemented, tested, and coordinated the work. Leave undocumented boundaries explicit.

Show an alternative

A useful project review names at least one simpler approach and explains when it would be sufficient. The most complex architecture is not automatically the best response to the user problem.

Keep failure evidence

A retrospective should include observed failures and the evidence that changed the plan. When those notes are unavailable, publish questions for review rather than invented stories about what went wrong.

Match claims to artifacts

Link quality claims to evaluations, release claims to a versioned record, and business outcomes to a measurement definition. State whether evidence is a sample, a portfolio demonstration, or a verified operational record.
